Ignacio Poblet, Lima 1975
Ignacio Poblet (Lima, 1975) is a visual artist whose work explores the intersection of ancestral memory and contemporary culture. A graduate of the National School of Fine Arts in Lima (1992–1997), with further studies in Audiovisual Development in Cali, Colombia, Poblet has developed a practice that blends Andean mythology with the visual symbols of modern life.
His exhibitions have taken him across Latin America and Europe, from Lima, Cusco, Cali, Pereira, and Popayán to Toulouse and Miami, with group shows extending as far as Singapore, Bogotá, and Medellín. In September 2025, his solo exhibition “Wandering Deities” opened at the Embassy of Peru in Berlin, presenting a vivid dialogue between Andean gods and contemporary urban symbols. This exhibition marked his 13th solo show and highlighted his ability to weave cultural heritage into global narratives.
Earlier in his career, Poblet was a finalist in the 2nd National Young Comics Competition in Lima (1994). He has also been invited as a speaker on artistic portfolio development at institutions such as Bellas Artes (Lima), Universidad del Valle (Colombia), and the Palmira International Art Festival (Colombia). In addition to his visual art practice, he has contributed illustrations and caricatures to several newspapers in Lima.
