When we first arrived at Re-Art in Almere, the team welcomed us with genuine warmth. Their passion for art and craftsmanship shone through instantly. From that first moment, it felt like more than an introduction. It marked the beginning of a collaboration where technology and art merge seamlessly.
Capturing the original
The day revolved around one goal: preserving the very essence of Ignacio’s paintings while translating them into the digital realm. The process began with a high-resolution digital capture of the original painting. During this first step, we worked with a second copy to recreate the depth and texture of the paint layers, ensuring the digital version captured the relief and movement of the original brushstrokes.
Refining the details
After the initial capture came the stage of fine-tuning. We carefully refined small imperfections and subtle details, such as tiny hearts and uneven edges, while preserving the integrity and soul of the work. This phase required true artistic precision: a digital restoration guided by an artist’s eye.
Choosing the perfect paper
The next stage focused on the tactile side of reproduction: finding the right paper. We tested several materials to see which texture and surface best captured the feel and depth of the original painting. In the end, we chose the paper that most faithfully reflects the color balance and texture of the work. This decision will guide all future reproductions.
